Gordon's participation in civic activities has been very broad. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eaton Terrace II, Inc., a non-profit corporation providing low cost assisted living facilities for the elderly. He is a member of the West Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Legal Fee Dispute Arbitration Committee and their Disabilities Law committee.  

Gordon served for eight years as an elected director on the Southwest Metropolitan Water and Sanitation District, and was a member of the Jefferson County Juvenile Task Force, an advisory committee to the County Commissioner). 

He has served as chairman and member of the Governor’s Mental Health Advisory Board for Service Standards and Regulations, and is currently on the Board of Trustees for Brentwood Methodist Church. Gordon is also currently a member of the Colorado and the First Judicial District Bar Associations, and a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.
